Job Description:

Provides leadership and oversees the operations of all pharmacies within Great River Health (Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center).  Oversight includes staffing, budgeting, departmental policies and procedures.  Responsible for medication management and ensures the pharmacy staff adhere to state, federal, regulatory agencies’ rules, laws, and regulations. Maintains ongoing communication with administration, medical staff, other departments and staff to determine needs, resolve problems, improve processes, and promote effective and safe drug therapy.

Required Skills:

Pharmacy Degree from an accredited college of Pharmacy

Pharmacist Licensure in good standing for the State of Iowa

5 years previous healthcare pharmacy leadership experience

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)

Detail oriented

Desired Skills:

Experience in hospital, retail, and long-term care pharmacy settings.

In-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical supply chain, clinical therapeutics, physicians’ prescribing habits, medication management systems, medication-use policy, technology used to deliver and support high quality patient care and how those issues affect the overall success of the organization.

Understands the relationships between third-party requirements, coding, documentation, billing equations, pricing updates, and organizational resources and can provide quality assurance for all these functions while providing quality care and improving financial performance

Experience with and understanding of 340B management for mixed use and contract pharmacy services.

Experience with Cerner, Omnicell Cabinets, and Vigilanz Reporting preferred
